hii! I figured I should make a post like this even though I have a feeling it will be like super messy xD

I've had an interest in history, specifically World War II basically since I was a kid. It was only recently though that I found out that there's a community for it! I've always had a thing with expressing my interests in ways that may seem slightly odd to other people, so it feels nice to see that there are others who seem to experience this in similar ways :3

I want to make it very clear that I am NOT a nazi or rightwing in any way, and I don't want actual (neo-)nazis to interact with my blog, get the fuck out! Similarly, I don't want racists, lgbtq-phobes, ableists, religious extremists, pedos & zoos or people of similarly disgusting kind to interact! I'm literally queer and neurodivergent (undiagnosed/suspected bc getting a therapy place is hard :/), this is not a place for you!

I've been a fan of the Downfall parodies on youtube when I was younger and recently relapsed into this fixation😭 I don't know if this fandom even really exists at this point since it seems that many creators have left in the meantime, but I'd love to talk about it, maybe I'll even get to write fanfics at some point. Also a short disclaimer that when I talk about historical figures that play a major role in the Downfall parody universe (such as Fegelein, Krebs, Burgdorf etc), it will usually be about their parody selves, not the real people! I'll try to clarify that individually if needed though.

I've also started lurking a little in the reichblr tag with a feeling that I'd describe as "indimidated fascination". Currently I'm mostly interested in some members of the Wehrmacht, but other historical figures that I had or have an interest in might come up as well. Overall any stuff that I post will probably go more into the lighthearted and humorous direction, but I'd love to bring in some more educational stuff as well.

I get crushes on fictional characters and sometimes historical figures too, but that doesn't mean I support, condone or defend their worldviews or actions in any way (this applies especially to real people of course)! These "crushes" usually stem from a place of fascination with who they were behind their public appearance, I want to know more about them as a private person, like their hobbies, favourite food and other mundane things like that. Often it's also simply that I feel physically attracted to their appearance because I think they're handsome, either that or they give me massive gender envy (or both lmao). I don't really control on who I fixate like that, it just happens, but I hope that this will be a place for me to express those feelings in some way and find like-minded people. Though I also want to point out that not all my fixations are automatically also crushes! Usually I will mention whether they are or not, or you'll probably notice based on what kind of posts I make about them lol.

it’s easy to answer my favorite ninja: Kai. I love him. he’s been my favorite since the dawn of time even though he’s very stupid sometimes and often gives me second hand embarrassment. the writers let me down with him in the later seasons so I just constantly come up with massive storylines entirely revolving around him <3

Uh hi. Lomg time listener first time caller. I'm a bi+ enby but also a vagina-haver. I like to write fic of my fave mlm ship with two penis-havers and I like to wrote a lot of sex. There's plenty of G-rated stuff throughout too.

Basically my question is this: my cishet friend told me I was fetishizing mlm relationships inappropriately for writing fic. I think of it as more of a gender exploration (...and maybe envy a little) thing for me tbh, but they don't know I'm enby. I'm not sure that people enjoying fictional characters doing anything is wrong really, but even so, I try to research and push healthy communication, safe/sane/consensual behavior, the biological differences in sensations etc.

My concern is: could they be right? Or is it healthy/"normal" to explore this through fic?

Okie doke. This is a topic that I get a lot of questions about, so I'm going to share my thoughts on the topic.

So.

You can write whatever you want for whatever reasons you want. Ever. At all. Fanfiction is a creative tool, and you don't have to explain yourself to other people.

you could be writing mlm smut because you're exploring your gender. or because you're not into imagining bodies that look like yours. or because those are the fictional characters that you identify with most. or that's what the majority of other fandom people prefer, and you like going with the flow. or you could just find it hot.

All of these are fine reasons to writing smut involving two cis men (or any demographic that you are not).

I already wrote a whole post on ethical objectification, and this ask touches on that topic. You can imagine things and get off to things that you probably wouldn't do in real life (i.e. getting up close and personal in the bedroom of two random dudes having sex), as long as you don't allow it to affect the way that you treat people in real life. There are no thought crimes. There is no board of arbiters who get to decide who is and isn't permitted to write content on a specific topic.

On identity...

There is a huge push for #OwnVoices in authorship, which is incredible. It's good to read about marginalized characters, written by people who share those identities. The characters will be more authentically written, and knowing that the author carries that identity gives the reader a special connection to the work. It's valuable, it's great, and it's necessary to exist.

That being said...

The response to the rise of #OwnVoices work, and the calls for that kind of work, have created a toxic backlash.

A thing I have seen many times: an author writes something that involves marginalized characters, or a sensitive situation, and then are lambasted by fans for "appropriating" that culture, or being insensitive, or writing something they aren't allowed to write. And then that author, who was not yet ready to come out about that aspect of their identity, or who wanted a modicum of privacy, is forced into revealing that fact just to stop the abuse from fans.

It's awful. It needs to stop.

If someone doesn't like that you (not a cis guy) are writing smut about two gay cis men, the way that they can communicate that is by not reading it. They don't have to read it or review it. They can kindly tell you that they won't beta that content for you. But it's not their write to tell you that you aren't permitted to create that content. Especially not from a person who doesn't even share the identity of your characters! Like, if a gay male friend were saying this to you, because your writing felt personally fetishizing to them, then it would be important to listen to and learn from that person, But there is a horrific wave of people who aren't in a marginalized group saying "it's appropriate and incorrect for you to do this thing, because my ethics say it's wrong, despite the fact that I am not the person affected by it, and I don't have all of the information on the topic."

So.

Those are my complicated thoughts on the matter.

Write what you want to write, try and be sensitive when writing fic that depicts people from marginalized groups that you aren't in, and don't listen to that friend.

However,Woopsies this one took a while, had to condense my thoughts here and there because I don’t wanna share everything just yet (I want to talk about them more later down the line)

First Impression: I seem to have a trend of not paying much attention to one character at first and then becoming obsessed with them the next time. Anyways I just thought of the Auditor as the silly flame guy. Who had a whole agency to kill one single guy (what a loser (affectionate) Idk i just thought they looked really cool (gender envy) (another factor of me realizing I wasnt cis)

Impression Now: MANY MANY THOUGHTS, several discord messages with my friends are just about me rambling about Auditor, hell I have like 2 or 3 docs with hc’s/analysis’ about Auditor. But basically, I like to think that they’re the youngest of the employers (yes they’re all siblings, i love the employer siblings hc so much) and i think that sorta facts in with how they’re like rlly stupid and just kinda incompetent (like have you seen how much he struggled to fight hank in his mag form?) plus its been mentioned that they’re the only one of the employers to actually interfere directly with Nevada, which kinda gives me that “younger sibling that wants to prove themselves to the others but ends up messing up horribly as they’re very impulsive and kinda foolish” Also think they’re like secretly very interested in nevada and the people there, sorry i just kinda think they fit the like ‘sheltered disney royalty’ trope. ALSO!!! I think they rely too much on just how much command and how they’re like a literal god, and they just rely on that sorta status when really it weren't for all that, she would be almost powerless i think, Which i think rlly factors into how we seem him struggle a lot in fights against hank and why like in project nexus they just make people take care of everything for her. Also ermm I think they’re also like rlly into flashy entrances like the whole pillar scene thing where it rises and theres like flames everywhere, what a showboat (affectionate). So in conclusion, secretly very curious and a bit foolish while also thinking they’re above everyone else and having a really really short temper. Also ermmm took the lil tidbit of Auditor liking sugary things as a secret soft side, which I will talk about later and also ermm also gets embarrassed easily. Sorry I'm all over the place woopsies.

Favorite moment: FAVORITE MOMENT IS DEFINITELY THE WHOLE LIKE UHHH AUDITOR RISING ON THAT PILLAR AND WAVING THEIR SWORD AS LIKE A BUNCH OF FLAMES CAME UP. THAT SCENE WAS SO SO SO GOOD!! ALSO WHEN THEY TURN INTO A LITTLE BLOB AND SLIDE AROUND!!!

Idea for a story: MANY IDEAS, like one that explores the sibling dynamics in the employer family + Maker (yes i think Maker is the “father” of the employers) (he just created them from thin air and went “My kids!!! I love em!!”) anyways a lot of stories for that, sorry I love family content. For other stories, I have a bunch of au ones like the one where Auditor and Phobos temporarily took care of the knight in my madcom x hk au. Also have a few ideas of how I think Auditor views humans/nevadas and all the things that confuse them. Also a few on his day to day and like her decreasing mental state (sorry they’re my fave character ever and that means they have to suffer through the horrors) oh and a lot, a lot, a lot of Auditor/Phobos ideas, love these 2 sm. Yet also ermm will put them through the horrors (I have several solo fics about Auditor dealing with Phobos death and post fall of Nexus time) but also just a lot of stories exploring their dynamic and how i think it would develop

Unpopular opinion: Ummmm not sure here honestly since I havent heard too many people talk about Auditor sadly but ermm I guess just like a lot of people kinda brush over Auditor a lot and ermmm it makes me so sad because they’re actually so so so interesting, idk it that counts as an unpopular opinion or whatever but like eh

Favorite relationship: If you’ve been on my blog for a while, I think we all know what I'm going to say. AUDITOR AND PHOBOS!!!!! Love love love these 2 so so so much. Guys I need more people to like this pairing so I can ramble about it more. LIKE GRGHAHH love these 2 evil bastards being in love. So many hc’s about them (I have dedicated doc for them) (and a bunch of short ideas) (might share some them here tbh…) But graghhh love thinking that Auditor decided to interfere with Nevada and ended up having to work with Phobos’ annoying ass only to slowly fall in love with him. Sorry, I just really like to think about how their relationship would develop. Phobos would go from teasing and joke flirting with Auditor for Auditor to turn it around on him, until the Auditor deemed it “far too unprofessional” and called a truce. (they still hated each other but they decided to might as well try to put up with each other for the sake of this “business” relationship (ended with them growing closer and learning more about the other) (which led them to find solace in each other’s company, and enjoy their little friendship until they realized wait a minute I'm like actually in love with you, how is this happening) LIKE GRGAHHH love these 2, their dynamic is so silly.

Favorite hc: All of mine (/hj) but tbh the good thing about having a favorite character that isn't talked about, is that you get to make all the hc’s yourself. And oh boy do I have a few (MANY) but we’re doing favorites so I’ll keep this as short as possible. Auditor has a more dragon like form, which he just has large wings, a tail and horns, which means he can fly around YIPEEE!!!Also its very easy to tell Auditor’s emotions just by looking at their flames, flames will like flicer much more slowly and droop a bit when stressed/tired, when they’re furious, their flames will rise and spark violently, when they see something they like (or someone (hi phobos), little heart shaped sparks will emit from their flames, etc etc. Also like I mentioned before, very curious about mortals in nevada, despite seeing them as below them, Auditor finds them very interesting especially Phobos (they’re gay) ALSO!!! An awful cook, they just summon food they like out of thin air and will set the kitchen on fire if they try to cook anything. Also of course the usual touch starved and attention craving hc, this guys craves some sort of affection. Also!!! Definitely gets teased about her crush on Phobos by their employer siblings. Oh and woops angst jumpscare but Auditor would pick up Phobos’ smoking habit (yes I hc that he smokes) after Phobos dies as a coping mechanism. Couldnt let you guys off that easily. (evil little grin)

Whooping, cheering, hollering, a chance for me to yell about my faves ❤️ here are my faves in no particular order:

Eddie Munson, Stranger Things - This one is obvious. He's a character I really connect with as someone who was also the school freak throughout most of my time at school. He also gives me big gender envy and I've never been so attached to a character like I am with Eddie.

Dorian Pavus, Dragon Age: Inquisition - I love this man to the moon and back. He's witty, funny, intelligent, handsome as hell, but most importantly he's an incredibly important character for me. A gay, POC character, who fights for what's in his heart and who he is regardless of what his countrymen back in Tevinter think of him. (Also fun fact they based him and some of his design on Freddie Mercury)

Sagacious Zu, Jade Empire: Ah, one of the first edgy sad men I had a crush on when I was younger. I love all of the Jade Empire characters, but Zu especially holds a place in my heart. He's also the first fictional character death I cried over.

Morgana, BBC's Merlin - I love Morgana. She's a great, complex character and her transition from good to villain will forever be iconic to me. Her whole character arc in the show and the way the writers sewed the seeds for her to become a villain very early on is what inspires me to write badass, morally grey women with the potential to become a villain if the story calls for it.

Solomon Wreath, Skulduggery Pleasant - Can't have a favourite character list without a character from my favourite book series! SP and the character of Solomon were my first introduction to necromancy and the concept that life and death flow into one another rather than being completely separate concepts. Even now, when I reread the books for what must be the millionth time at this point, he's still the one I loom forward to meeting again.

Bella Goth, The Sims franchise - She is beauty. She is grace. She disappeared in Sims 2 and I adore the lore surrounding her and what happened to her. Plumbella has some amazing videos on it and there's also a v cool Sims 4 Machina called Bella Goth Reborn on YouTube that is absolutely incredible and you should all watch it.

Vergil, Devil May Cry - This man. This man is hot. I love a hero to villain arc, but what I love more is a villain to ally arc. Vergil going from villain to ally in more than one game and his motivation being having the power he never had to save his mother as a child are I credibly interesting to me and what make his character more complex than a character such as Dante or Lady. Those layers that the fandom explores are what make me love him so much (also he's hot).

River Song, Doctor Who - Listen. She has me in a chokehold. She's a badass woman and the moment I first saw her onscreen I was in love. Getting to explore more of her character through watching the show amd having to wait for that pay off while trying to figure out who she was with the clues that we were given is one of the fondest memories I have of watching Doctor Who when I was younger.

Raikou Shimizu, Nabari No Ou - My favourite ever manga and honestly, hand on heart, the one manga I recommend to everyone. It's a beautiful manga and choosing a fave is difficult, but it has to be Raikou. He's once again a fascinating, multi-layered character, and I think he's a v good example of a character that appears to be a villain at first but at the end of the day is just trying to do what's best and make the world a better place just like the other teens and young adults in the manga are.

Giorno Giovanna, JJBA Vento Aureo - Giorno is the best Jojo you can't change my mind. Also the fact that had he been included in Part 6 of the manga the whole ending likely would've changed dramatically is smth I think about a lot. I adore Giorno's character and he is what made me enjoy Part 5 so much. I've even got a figure of him in my childhood bedroom and a poster of him in my uni bedroom. I often wonder what his relationship with his father would've been like had he not been killed off in Part 3 and if they'd ever met.
